San Gennaro Northwest Cioppino is a ready-made base for the Italian-American seafood stew, from a Mascio family recipe. It is full of chunky tomatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, onion, herbs and spices. Heat it, add about 1.5 lb of your favorite cooked seafood, and simmer about 5 minutes. It serves 4 to 5. The base is gluten free with no added sugar, and it contains clam broth and clam base.

How to cook it
Heat
In a large pan or pot over medium-high heat, bring the Cioppino base to a simmer.
Add seafood
Add about 1.5 lb of seafood, such as crab, clams, mussels, prawns, scallops or fish. Simmer until cooked through, about 5 minutes depending on the seafood. Be careful not to overcook it.
Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and a wedge of lemon, and serve with sourdough bread, or over creamy polenta. Serves 4 to 5.
The story behind it
Italian fishermen created Cioppino on the wharfs of San Francisco in the 1800s: a rich, hearty tomato-based seafood stew. Gennaro "Jerry" Mascio, a Navy veteran, crabber, clam digger and former Alaska fisherman, made it for his family every chance he got, often on holidays, including the Feast of the Seven Fishes. Traditionally the cook chops, dices, stirs and watches the pot to make the base before the seafood goes in. The Mascio family has done that part for you.
