The San Gennaro Classic Cacciatore & Northwest Cioppino Combo includes both stew bases in 24.7 oz jars. Classic Cacciatore is a hunter-style stew base: heat it and add cooked chicken, beef or sausage. Northwest Cioppino is a seafood stew base from a Mascio family recipe: heat it and add about 1.5 lb of cooked seafood. The Cioppino base contains clams. Shipping within the USA is included.

How to cook it

Classic Cacciatore

  1. Heat

Heat the base in a pot. For a soup, first add broth or water to the thickness you like.

  2. Add protein

For a heartier stew, stir in fully cooked chicken or your favorite protein.

  3. Serve

Serve it as a soup or a stew, or as a thick, chunky sauce over pasta, polenta or a meat dish. Garnish with fresh parsley. A jar holds about 5 servings of 2/3 cup.

Northwest Cioppino

  1. Heat

In a large pan or pot over medium-high heat, bring the Cioppino base to a simmer.

  2. Add seafood

Add about 1.5 lb of seafood, such as crab, clams, mussels, prawns, scallops or fish. Simmer until cooked through, about 5 minutes depending on the seafood. Be careful not to overcook it.

  3. Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley and a wedge of lemon, and serve with sourdough bread, or over creamy polenta. Serves 4 to 5.
