San Gennaro Foods privacy policy

San Gennaro Foods, Inc. collects only what it needs to answer you, send your welcome code, ship your order, improve this site and measure its ads. It does not sell your personal information. The Meta and Reddit advertising pixels share what you do on this site with those companies, and you can turn them off at Your privacy choices. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing mail@polenta.net.

Who runs polenta.net?

This policy covers polenta.net, run by San Gennaro Foods, Inc., 19255 80th Ave South, Kent, WA 98032. Questions go to mail@polenta.net or 253-872-1900. Effective date: October 15, 2026.

What does San Gennaro Foods collect, and why?

Club Polenta email list and welcome code
Your first and last name, email address, zip code and preferred grocery store, when you join Club Polenta. We use them to send your code and the Club Polenta emails, and to learn which areas want San Gennaro in stores. We record when you joined and the notice you saw.
Orders
Stripe, our payment processor, collects your name, email, shipping address and payment details on its own checkout page. We receive the order details we need to ship it. We never see or store your full card number.
Contact and wholesale forms
Your name, email, phone number and message, and on the wholesale forms your company, role, business location and type, number of stores or locations, distributors, the products or services you want, expected volume and start date. We use them to reply to you.
Site assistant
The questions you type and anything you choose to share, such as a zip code or an email address. We use them to answer you and to find questions the site does not answer yet.
Site use
Pages visited, device type, approximate location based on your IP address, and how you arrived, including when an AI assistant such as ChatGPT sent you. We collect this through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement to show us where the site is hard to use. It hides what you type into forms and the assistant. Google Analytics is set so Google does not use this data for ads.
Advertising measurement
The Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel record when your browser views a page or a product, adds to the cart, starts checkout, places an order (its value and the products) or sends a form (which form, not what you wrote). Meta and Reddit match this with people who saw San Gennaro ads, using their own cookies and your device's IP address. We do not send them your name, email, phone number, address or anything you type.
Security
We use IP addresses briefly to limit abuse of forms, codes and the assistant, and store them only as a one-way hash.

Does polenta.net use cookies?

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to count visits and sessions. The Meta and Reddit pixels use cookies to tell whether an ad led to a visit or an order. When you turn the pixels off at Your privacy choices, the site sets one cookie of its own to remember that choice. The site shows no cookie banner: the pixels have their own off switch, and a browser that sends Global Privacy Control has them off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.

How long does San Gennaro Foods keep personal information?

Assistant conversations
90 days. After that we delete the conversation and keep only the question text, with nothing that identifies you.
Club Polenta email list and welcome codes
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data. While we hold your email, we also keep the date and time you gave consent.
Orders
As long as tax and accounting rules require.
Form messages
Until you ask us to delete them.
Site use data
Google Analytics keeps it for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days and other data for up to 13 months.
Advertising measurement
Meta and Reddit keep pixel data under their own privacy policies.

Who does San Gennaro Foods share personal information with?

We share personal information with service providers that run parts of this site for us, and only to do that work: payment processing (Stripe), hosting, the database, email delivery, the email marketing platform, analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), and the AI service that reads assistant questions to match them to answers published on this site. We also share information when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information. The Meta and Reddit pixels share what you do on this site with Meta and Reddit to measure our ads. California law calls this sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can turn it off at Your privacy choices, at the foot of every page.

What privacy rights do customers have?

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell it. To opt out of sharing, use Your privacy choices at the foot of any page, or set your browser to send Global Privacy Control; we honor both on every page. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We honor the same requests from every customer, wherever you live.

How do I turn off advertising pixels?

Select Your privacy choices at the foot of any page, then Turn off advertising pixels. The choice is saved in a cookie on that browser for one year. On another browser or device, or after you clear your cookies, make it again there. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the pixels are already off. Turning them off does not change how the site works.

How do I see, correct or delete my data?

Email mail@polenta.net or call 253-872-1900. Tell us what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. We confirm the request by writing to the email address on file, then complete it within 45 days. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. To stop marketing email only, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

Does polenta.net collect information from children?

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

What happens when this policy changes?

When this policy changes, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
